Legal and Practical Bill of Lading and Letter of Credit – Seminar Dubai Chamber Event
The Dubai Chamber of Commerce invites all Netherlands Business Council members to the Legal and Practical Bill of Lading and Letter of Credit – Seminar.
Bill of lading is the most frequently encountered document for shipping and it plays a central role in the finance of international trade and has on occasions been referenced as the cornerstone of commodity trade. With the expansion of international trade, the importance of understanding the legal and practical aspects of bill of lading and letters of credit is of paramount importance. This seminar will provide a comprehensive overview of obligations and challenges faced by trading parties using letters of credit and bill of lading.
Objectives:
- Provide an overview of the letter of credit cycle
- Gain detailed insights into the workflow, procedures and obligations of the parties under letters of credit and related security
- Identify the strengths and weaknesses of documents as collateral for trade and commodity finance
- Understand the role of letters of credit and the presentation of bill of lading thereunder
- Examine issues surfaced in recent legal cases such as letters of Indemnity “LOI’s”
